What's going with dinner tonight? Drunken Onions
I had these onions for the first time a few years ago while on a business trip.
We went to a burger place and they had these onions on most of the burgers.
I fell in love instantly! 💓
I called home and told my husband I had just had the best burger ever and it was due to the onions! 🧅
When I got back home I could not wait to try and duplicate!
I have made these many times since.
I made a pizza with these onions.
Homemade dough and these onions.
OH MY!
Add a glass of wine.... heaven!
This is such a simple recipe.
It wow's everyone!
Try on burger too!
I made this at the last minute tonight.
I had thawed some ground meat and asked everyone what they wanted me to make with it for dinner.
They said they wanted burgers.
I looked over and saw onions and thought I have the perfect thing to do with them!
First peel the onion and cut off the ends.
Next slice the onion
Add to skillet
Turn stove to medium high and cook.
Do not add anything yet. Just add to dry pan on medium high heat.
Once it starts to brown, add a 1/2 pat of butter- 1/2 teaspoon.
Keep stirring.
Once the butter is absorbed and is browning, add another 1/2 teaspoon of butter. Keep stirring.
Now comes the good part.
Add some wine.
Not much, just about 3-4 tablespoons.
Add your favorite drinking wine.
I have used a dry red, dry white, zinfandel and moscato.
It will absorb quickly.
Once absorbed, the onions are done!
But wait, you too need to enjoy a glass of wine while cooking the onions.
Get in touch with your inner Julia Child!
This is a Pink Moscato I added to the onions (and my glass)
(I tried something new)
Now add the onions to whatever you are serving tonight.
(If having a burger, don't add condiments! Try the burger first.
This jazzes up the burger so much you will not need the condiments!)

Enjoy your drunken onions!
